This is a group of expert researchers who are responsible for ensuring that the trial is properly managed and runs according to the ethical guidelines that are laid down. The Chairperson is independent of the investigators who designed and manage the trial day to day.

Chair – Professor Sally Marshall
This group of experts are entirely separate from the trial. They are responsible for ensuring that enough patients are recruited, and for checking adverse events associated with trial treatments. The DMEC reports to the Trial Steering Committee and may give advice about any changes that are needed.

Chair - Professor Colin Baigent
